We are seeking a probationary full-time teacher to teach high school Social Studies for the LRSD Virtual School and provide in person support for the students at Crossroads School located in Fort Macleod, AB. This is a hybrid position with the teacher working 2 days a week from home and three days a week at Crossroads School. The contract will commence for the 2024-2025 school year (August 26, 2024).
We are seeking a teacher who has:
Knowledge of and experience in teaching high school Social Studies
The ability to work collaboratively as part of an instructional team
The ability to create innovative integrated curriculum units
Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of an instructional team;
Experience teaching in an online context
A commitment to building relationships with students to create a safe, caring and welcoming online learning environment;
A strong belief in parent involvement and communication including regular communication with home beyond the use of report cards;
Strong organizational and understanding of online classroom pedagogy;
In depth knowledge of and experience with current outcomes based assessment practices and ability to develop multiple assessments in a blended learning environments;
An ability to ensure success for students with diverse academic, behavioral, emotional and/or curricular needs within the blended online classroom setting in a rural context;
Alberta Teaching Certificate or eligibility for same;
Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
