Teacher -On -Call

Chief Atahm School is on the Adams Lake Indian Band. It is located in south central British Columbia, near the town of Chase and 57 km east of Kamloops.

Chief Atahm School continues to be a parent-operated school where Elders, teachers, and parents work together to offer the best programs possible that adheres to our school’s vision, philosophy and principles. Currently Chief Atahm School offers Secwepemctsin immersion programming for Nursery/Kindergarten to grade 4 and bilingual instruction from grade 5 to 10.

Description

Under the direction of the Principal or Teacher, the Teacher On-Call would serve as a teacher in a variety of school and educational situations.

Qualifications

- Experience teaching in a variety of grades

- Show initiative and work with minimal supervision

- Work constructively as a team player

- Knowledge and understanding of local Secwepemc culture and traditions ( an asset)

- Understand and follow the First Nations School Association: Standards and Competencies

Requirements of Position:

Adhere to the Adams Lake Indian Band Human Resources policy

BC Teaching Certificate or eligible to obtain one

Acceptable criminal records check

Start date: Open until filled.
