Location: Area 4 Office (Cranberry Portage)

Start Date: As soon as possible

FTE: 1.00 FTE

The

The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide support to Nursery-Grade 12 students. Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the Speech-Language Pathologist works collaboratively with the Student Services Team, school personnel, parents and other clinical disciplines to deliver a comprehensive range of services to students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders

Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba and possess a valid Certificate of Practice

Valid Manitoba School Clinician (Audiology & Speech Language Pathology) Certificate (or eligibility for)

Three years of relevant experience would be an asset

Current knowledge regarding developments in the field of Speech-Language Pathology

Valid Manitoba Driver’s License is required

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work and make decisions independently and/or through collaboration as required

Demonstrated skills in caseload management

Excellent computer/technology skills

Experience working with Indigenous communities and using culturally affirming approaches preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete communication skills assessments and provide an interpretation of the results

Provide recommendations for treatment and intervention programs for children with speech and language disorders.

Participate in the development of appropriate educational programs to meet the learning needs of children with speech and language difficulties.

Train and provide resource recommendations to support teachers, parents and educational assistants with the implementation of programs

Provide ongoing support and consultation while monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the treatments prescribed

Maintain up to date clinical documentation

Maintains confidentiality in accordance with professional guidelines.

Adheres to Frontier School Division policies and procedures
