Dámbü Tän Kets'ádań Kų̀ - Cliff Trail Elementary is a brand new, state of the art, Kindergarten to Grade 7 elementary school, focusing on 21st century learning principals. We are located on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwäch’än council. The school is situated in a brand new, rapidly growing, diverse and culturally inclusive subdivision. As Whistle Bend’s first school, the citizens are excited to foster community spirit and nurture the next generation of learners.

School: Dámbü Tän Kets'ádań Kų̀ - Cliff Trail Elementary

Position: Temporary Education assistant

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: June 12, 2026

FTE: 1.0

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent;
  • Experience working with youth;
  • Experience working with youth with special needs would be considered an asset

  • Post-secondary training in Exceptionalities Worker Program, Special Education, Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or Medical Services would be an asset
  • Experience integrating self-regulation and social-emotional care practices in the classroom is an asset;

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:

Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:

  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers and parents;

  • Adaptability to cope with a wide variety of situations;

  • Ability to work as a member of a team;

  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments;

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Criminal Record/RCMP Check with Vulnerable Sector; to be provide before the first day of employment, dated no more than 3 months prior to your start date
  • Standard First Aid; to be provided within 3 months of the first day of employment
  • Completion of the Education Assistant YG Learn course

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Relocation may be available.
  • As English is the administrative language for the Government of Yukon, please submit your cover letter and resume in English
