Temporary Behaviour Resource Worker

OSSTF - PSSP 2 - $32.26 - $50.24 per hour (plus vacation pay)



Effective Dates: August 25, 2025 - June 26, 2026

Hours Per Week: 35

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager, Behaviour Resources Services and ABA, the Behaviour Resource Worker provides direct service to students with a range of behavioural, social, emotional, developmental and mental health issues using individualized, small group, and class-wide approaches.

In addition, Behaviour Resource Workers perform behaviour assessments and will use evidence-informed practices to develop and implement behaviour management plans for a group of schools.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct service to students who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Develop and implement proactive programs and presentations for students experiencing social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
  • Provide classroom and student focused consultation regarding behaviour management, intervention strategies, and implementation of programs to promote change.
  • Perform behaviour assessments, develop and implement behaviour management plans using evidence-based and -informed best practices.
  • Liaise with Teachers, Principals, Board personnel, parents and outside agencies as appropriate.
  • Prepare, transmit, and maintain appropriate electronic documentation using various system tools and software (e.g., G-Suite, E-File, Serv-u).
  • Provide in-services to Board personnel with regards to behaviour management issues (e.g., BMS) and topics related to social-emotional learning and strategies that promote mental wellbeing, as required.
  • Commitment to maintain updated and valid Practitioner certificate in an “approved” Crisis Intervention Training Program: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (e.g., Behaviour Management Systems with Containment-trained, UMAB, CPI).
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced 3-year College Diploma - Child and Youth Worker
  • 4 - 5 years academic or clinical experience with children across the range of exceptionalities and providing coaching and developing behaviour plans.
