As we continue growing our fibre‑to‑the‑home and fixed wireless footprint, we’re looking for an experienced, people‑focused leader to join us as our next Director, Network Deployment and Field Operations.
What You’ll Lead
In this role, you’ll oversee all network implementation activities for your region’s annual fibre and fixed wireless build programs. You’ll guide a team responsible for the complete project management lifecycle, from initial design to GO LIVE, ready for sales. Including monthly forecasting, design & construction approvals, progress management, and risk awareness and mitigation. All while ensuring strong performance from third‑party design & build partners.
You’ll work closely with national Program, Design, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales & Marketing and Network Operations teams building alignment, removing obstacles, and ensuring your region delivers high‑quality, timely, and cost‑effective network deployments. Ultimately, you’ll help ensure capital investments are deployed efficiently and effectively to meet Xplore’s ambitious network expansion goals.
You will also lead Network Field Operations activities in your region, to repair, maintain, and commission the network. You’ll report on network health, oversee trouble remediation, and support the development and execution of operating plans that serve both current customers and future growth.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategic Delivery
- Provide clear direction to your team and inspire high performance through, strong leadership and sound decision‑making
- Build and maintain detailed, real‑time visibility into all active programs and milestones.
- Ensure network build objectives are met predictably and reliably on time and within budget.
Program & Risk Management
- Identify risks early and put effective mitigation plans in place.
- Translate high‑level deployment plans into actionable, region‑based implementation.
- Balance inter‑regional and inter‑program priorities to keep execution aligned and moving.
Vendor & Partner Oversight
- Manage performance of third‑party vendors against SLAs and commitments.
- Drive timely issue resolution to ensure continuous compliance and program momentum.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align resources, priorities, and plans.
- Prepare and deliver communications that provide clarity on network deployment progress.
- Present performance, risks, and key decisions to executives when required.
Financial & Operational Accountability
- Lead the regional capital budget for fibre and wireless builds, including forecasting and variance reporting.
- Provide recommendations for operational efficiencies and opex savings.
- Oversee repair, maintenance, and network construction activities based on engineering standards.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned telecommunications leader who brings a blend of technical depth, operational excellence, and strong people leadership.
You have:
- 10+ years of experience in telecom, across both wireless and wireline environments.
- 7+ years in senior management
- A strong track record of delivering large, complex implementation programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience with executive audiences.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
