School Bus Drivers
Transportation Department
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Safely drive students to and from school, in a timely manner, following a prescribed route, on a daily basis during the school year
- Safely transport students to and from other school related activities
Perform daily vehicle circle check safety inspections, documenting and reporting according to prescribed guidelines - Comply with all Division and government regulations, laws and policies
- Communicate clearly and interact with parents, school employees, passengers, co-workers and the general public in a courteous, professional manner as required
- Applicants must possess a Class 2 License and a School Bus Operators Certificate
- (Note: The Winnipeg School Division Transportation Department will provide paid training for suitable applicants who hold a Class 5 license and a clear driver’s abstract for the past 5 years)
- A clear driver’s abstract for the past 5 years is required with the application
- If you hold a Class 5F Manitoba Driver's License, proof of registration/passing mark of Class 2 Knowledge AND School Bus Knowledge test through MPI is required
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to supervise passengers under care
- Ability to communicate in a pleasant, courteous and effective manner
- Exposure to supervising large groups of children is an asset
- Must respect confidentiality of work, be safety-minded, courteous and able to demonstrate an appreciation for the importance of customer service
