EQUIPMENT REPAIR PERSON/CHARGE HAND
SERVICE BUILDING
1.00 FTE - Permanent
Salary: $32.52 per hour
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or designate, the incumbent shall be responsible for the general repair and maintenance of two- and four-cycle gas and battery driven grounds and custodial equipment and machines, and is responsible for cost estimating, coordinating and on-site direction and supervision of staff. Assists with scheduling and performing routine inspections on all Division service vehicles and equipment; notes and recommends servicing and repair requirements to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- must possess valid certification from a recognized post-secondary institution in small engine repair / maintenance of two- and four-cycle gas driven engines is required.
- possess a valid Province of Manitoba driver's license to a minimal of class 5 standard level.
- experience in the diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of small engine equipment and battery powered machines such as lawn mowers, snow blowers and custodial cleaning equipment.
- electrical/mechanical knowledge in motor repair to be able to know when servicing is required and what is needed.
- experience with supervising large crews of staff and knowledge of the Manitoba WPS&H act.
- experience in the safe operation of grounds equipment such as chain saws, weed trimmers, garden tractors, riding mowers, etc.
- experience in landscaping (soil composition, tree trimming, erosion control, etc.).
