Position Overview

Reporting to the Site Director or Site Lead, Human Resources Services, the incumbent participates in the provision of a variety of human resources services including staffing, employee relations, and labour relations.

Experience
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a unionized environment performing a broad range of Human Resource functions including: employee relations, labour relations and staffing.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Administrative Assistant or Secretarial training program required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Certificate in Human Resource Management from a recognized post-secondary institution or enrollment and completion of the program within 5 years from date of hire.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) required.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, written communication skills and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to act with initiative, judgment, tact and diplomacy essential.
  • Must be able to learn and adapt quickly.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is primarily in an office environment.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and competing demands.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
