Position Overview

Under the guidance and leadership of the Manager, Facility and Support Services or Manager, the Administrative Officer is responsible for operational requirements and administrative staffing and resources in a community area or for centralized services. This position will oversee the efficient organization of administrative services at specific sites, including supervision of administrative support staff.

Experience
  • Minimum five (5) years recent, progressively responsible secretarial and administrative assistant experience required.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ workload coordination experience for administrative staff required.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience including direct supervision and performance management required.
  • Experience with SAP would be an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Business Administration diploma/certificate required.
  • A combination of post-secondary education and working experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with email and computerized calendars required.
  • Keyboarding speed of 50 wpm required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to compile statistical and financial management reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently compose correspondence on behalf of the Manager, Facility and Support Services or Manager.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new computerized programs.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of administrative duties.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, the general public and community health services agencies.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and contribute to a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
