The Opportunity

The technical (outside) sales specialist for Wajax will primarily be responsible for driving sales of various products and services to Oil Sands market. Accountable/responsible for growing regional product sales revenues within Oil Sand accounts. Develop a sales strategy and plan, including customer target accounts, prospecting, sales leads, follow-ups and maintain a strong relationship with existing customers. Retain and grow business relationships with accounts by proactively identifying opportunities, presenting innovative solutions, and overcoming obstacles with drive, passion, and resilience.

The Role

  • Must have a good understanding of rotating equipment requirements.
  • Previous experience selling rotating equipment packages, repairs, upgrades, and commission/startup services preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in mechanical equipment; training in assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting of equipment; experience in Oil Sands preferred but not required.
  • Display high degree of independence and drive to meet goals, targets, and objectives.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory up to 50% of the time.
  • Source new clients, conduct sales and cold calls, follow up on leads and referrals to present product solutions and increase sales in assigned.
  • Identify and build relationships with decision makers within existing accounts while creating an on-going relationship strategy to grow the territory.
  • Coordinate with product experts to identify and capitalize on expansion and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Conduct follow up’s with customers on orders, quotes and service requested; undertake activities to secure the sale, such as sourcing of competitor information, analysis of competitor product offerings and applications.
  • Develop proposals and quotes based upon client needs, specifications, and product offerings with Inside sales and ERS (engineered repaired services) teams .
  • Produce weekly market activity reports and update activities on CRM (Salesforce)

**Preference will be given to applicants with pump sales experience, SAGD sales experience.

The Candidate

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree / College Diploma, Technical Engineering preferred but not required.
  • Work Experience: Proven track record in attaining/exceeding account management targets and sales goals through the repair and supply of rotating equipment such as process pumps, pump packages as well as parts , instrumentation, and process filtration.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of SAGD market preferred and ability to provide product selection, fitment as well as data and details to the customer base. Preference given to candidates who have good understanding of rotating equipment requirements.
  • Proficiency: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
