The Opportunity

This role provides supervision and coordination of activities relating to production and operation workers to ensure production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget.

The Role

  • Schedule and monitor job statuses and initiate workflows for repair and production orders
    being handled by the department for cost & delivery reduction, conducting follow up to
    ensure adherence to established timelines and schedules
  • Responsible for managing the repair facility to achieve best possible quality and financial
    results, aligned with corporate strategy and personal objectives
  • Contributes with implementation and improvement of processes within the shop
  • Continually identify and recommend opportunities to improve service to customers
  • Ensures adherence to corporate policies and programs as well as legislative requirements
  • Support a healthy and safe workplace by ensuring that all safety practices and policies are
    being followed by employees, contractors and on-site customers
  • Work closely with the relevant departments/Project Managers in identifying, assessing and
    resolving technical or delivery related issues
  • Maintain a production/shop availability schedule to ensure that work in progress meets the
    planned delivery expectations and coordinate manpower resources to meet the schedule
  • Identify employee’s strengths and implement cross training to share responsibilities and to
    increase efficiency within shop operations
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or
    assign employees to experienced workers for training
  • Monitor and assess employee performance on a regular and annual basis
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to
    determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and
    outputs

The Candidate

Education: Journeyman mechanical or electrical certificate and/or equivalent trade
experience.
Work Experience: 3+ years working experience in a similar role
Knowledge: Technically strong in all aspects of rotating equipment repairs.
In-depth knowledge of process engineering/production processes, improvement and
planning. Working knowledge of general administration and, competent in MS Office
