What you'll do:
  • \u00A0Perform light housekeeping for clients in their home, including cleaning living areas, vacuuming, mopping floors, laundry, dishwashing, and more
  • \u00A0Plan, prepare and serve meals
  • \u00A0Provide companionship and develop professional relationships with clients
  • \u00A0Assist with walking and stabilization
  • \u00A0Communicate with members of the health team regarding the client's homemaking, physical, and emotional needs to assist with the development of the client care plan
  • \u00A0Complete environmental risk assessments
  • \u00A0Maintain focus of client independence, health status, safety, and quality of life
What we need from you:
  • \u00A0A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • \u00A0Current CPR and First Aid certification is required
  • \u00A0Safe Food Handler and WHIMIS certification is required
  • \u00A0Experience working with seniors and persons with disabilities preferred
  • \u00A0Experience working for a professional cleaning services organization preferred
  • \u00A0Customer service experience preferred
  • \u00A0Experience working with people from different social and economic environments preferred
  • \u00A0A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • \u00A0A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check is required. A Vulnerable Sector Search may also be required
  • \u00A0Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • \u00A0Willingness to travel within the sites service area

Working conditions and physical demands: This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
