ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)

The UGDSB employs a team of approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 66 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington, and the City of Guelph. THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB is seeking dynamic individuals to join our elementary teaching team for the following opportunity:

Position Details:

Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster

Location:

All geographical areas of the Board, including North Wellington, Centre Wellington, East Wellington, Guelph, Orangeville, Dufferin County, and Shelburne.

Note: As a member of the Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster, you may select your preferred work locations within these regions.

Work Schedule:

On-call basis, as needed during the school year. Assignments may vary in length depending on school requirements and your selected availability.

Rate of Pay:

$280.89/day; wage rate effective September 1, 2025

Required Qualifications:

Ontario College of Teachers Certified or In-Progress

Please Note:

As a member of the Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster, you will have the opportunity to apply for vacant permanent or LTO positions as they become available, with possible consideration over external applicants.

Reporting to the Principal of the assigned school, as a member of the Elementary Occasional Teacher Roster, you will be responsible for maintaining the continuity of student learning in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Working on an on-call basis, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. This is a key position for supporting the educational needs of students across various grade levels and subjects within UGDSB.
