The Faculté de médecine dentaire de l’Université Laval invites applications from qualified candidates for one clinical dentistry teaching position in the field of periodontics.

The incumbent of this position will, by the nature of his or her teaching. research and participation activities, the incumbent of this position will work primarily within the periodontics and implantology discipline at the Faculté de médecine dentaire de l’Université Laval and contribute to the development of research and knowledge in this field. The responsibilities of the incumbent include teaching and research in periodontics, supervising students, as well as carrying out administrative tasks and participation in relation to these activities, in connection with the various 1st and 2nd cycle study programs of the Faculté de médecine dentaire de l’Université Laval.

The candidate's area of expertise should cover the field of periodontics and implantology, and specifically the diagnosis management and treatment of patients with rare diseases in dentistry. Research experience, ability to contribute to the development of clinical research and to collaborate with researchers in different fields will be highly valued.

The selected candidate must:

1. Hold a DMD or DDS or equivalent on date of employment.
2. Hold a permit to practice from the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ) or be able to obtain one.
3. Hold a post-graduate certificate in periodontics or be in the process of obtaining one.
4. Hold a minimum of a master’s degree in dental science or be committed to obtaining one; high consideration will be given to those who hold a PhD or who demonstrate an interest in pursuing PhD level studies in a field relevant to the performance of their duties.
5. Be experienced in implantology and clinical research applied to rare diseases.
6. Be able to teach in French or make the necessary arrangements to do so within a reasonable period.
7. Demonstrated pedagogical skills and interest in research and teaching.
