Schedule, and oversee daily team activities to ensure timelines are met. Manage the engagement, performance, and development of team members. Continuously monitor areas to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety Standards are met and adhered to. Ensure Preventative procedures are evolved to ensure optimum effectiveness of the PM program. Participate and support regulatory inspections./pp/ppbWhat will you do?/b/pulliManage Team Performance:ulliCommunicate job expectations and lead daily team huddles to ensure On Time Delivery (OTD) and Right First Time./liliPlan, monitor and appraise job results for quality and efficiency./liliPlan and monitor team activities to increase efficiency and minimize over time./liliPrioritize Unplanned Planned work with Maintenance Planner./liliVerify the qualifications of personnel and recommends training as needed; ensure all personnel have been adequately trained on equipment and procedures and that proper documentation practices are followed./liliConduct Performance Management Process (PMP) with staff./liliCoach, counsel and manage employee performance./liliLead PPI (continuous improvement) initiatives./li/ul/li/ulp/pulliMaintain Regulatory Compliance:ulliEnforce regulations to ensure “license to operate”; the Facility, Grounds, and associated systems are kept and operated in a GMP and Statutory compliant state./liliEnsure all planned maintenance is according to the manufacturers’ recommendations and to an approved schedule./liliAdhere to all approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)./liliEnsure staff are trained and qualified for duties./liliPrepare for and participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during regulatory audits./liliLead the investigation process and ensure deviations are properly documented./liliEnsure CAPAs, deviations and follow up actions are completed within the required timeline./liliEnsure all reports adhere to EHS rules and regulations and work in a safe manner./liliParticipate and support regulatory inspections./li/ul/li/ulp/pulliEnsures Maximum Site Availability and Appearance:ulliEnsure quality of work and that work is completed in a safe and efficient manner./liliEstablish and adhere to routine monitoring of the Facility Grounds for availability, functionality and appearance - continuously improve as identified./liliChampion proactive maintenance vs. reactive maintenance./liliCollaborate with plant/ production/ personnel to ensure first-line maintenance identified by operators, where applicable./liliReview work planning and scheduling with planner, inform the maintenance planner/ team leader of routine preventative maintenance requirements./liliDevelop maintenance routines following the manufacturers’ and suppliers’ recommendations./liliReview and implement improvements to existing preventive and predicative maintenance programs for optimal effectiveness./liliRecommend procedural changes and efficiency improvements for maintenance activities./liliEstablish, maintain and report on Key Performance Indicators that represent the performance of the maintenance systems and assets./liliAnalyze systems for energy usage and implement efficiency improvements./li/ul/li/ulp/pulliMaintain Documentation - Site, Property and Applicable AssetsulliPrepare/ Revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/liliParticipate in the Change Control process./liliFollows changes, review drawings/ documents and revises as necessary./liliEnsure Site logs and all Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data collected is accurate and complete./li/ul/li/ulp/pulliSchedule/ monitor/ coordinate project work and directs external contractors./liliMaintain Professional and Technical Knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies./liliPromote a safe working environment, report potential hazards, and ensure all direct reports follow Environmental Health and Safety procedures./liliSelect, develop, and evaluate staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Work with and advise staff on administrative policies and procedures./liliPerform alternating or rotating shift work (as required)./li/ulp/ppbHow will you get here?/b/pp/ppbEducation:/b/ppLicensed tradesman in either of the following fields: Mechanical, Electrical./ppBachelor of Engineering or Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent would be an asset./pp/ppbExperience:/b/ppMinimum 7 years previous facility services experience in pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food manufacturing industry - pharmaceutical experience preferred./ppPrevious experience with building (interior exterior) and property maintenance systems./ppPrevious supervisor or team/group leader experience./ppExperience in the use of RCFA tools such as FMEA/FMECA, Cause Mapping and Ishikawa Charts etc./pppreferred./ppExperience in operating a 24/7 operation preferred./pp/ppbEquivalencyi:/i/b/ppEquivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered./pp/ppbKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:/b/ppExcellent knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Sound judgment, decision making and trouble shooting skills. Sound knowledge of Safety standards and statutory requirements for facilities. Excellent communication skills as well as proven interpersonal abilities. Proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CMMS. Data analysis, problem definition solving skills. Knowledgeable in specific RCM and predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermography and infrared tools and techniques, lubrication, machinery alignment, etc.). Proficiency with the English language./pp/ppbStandards and Expectations:/b/ppFollow all Environmental Health Safety Policies and Procedures. Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to quality systems SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving./ppModels positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field./pp/ppbPhysical Requirements:/b/ppPosition requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes or odour.
