Description
Assignment:
- Full-time 1.0 FTE temporary replacement teaching position
- Autonomy for the types of projects for the students to complete
- One supervision and 5 preps per week
- Course load to include:
- Grade 7-12 Fabrication
- Junior High students in the morning and High school students in the afternoons
- Duties to commence February 2, 2026 and will continue until April 10, 2026, with the possibility of extension
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Welder and/or Experience in Fabrication would be considered an asset
- Experience teaching in Junior Senior High school would be considered an asset
- Ability to utilize varied instructional strategies and to differentiate in order to meet a wide range of individual needs
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work in an active, team-oriented learning environment and be a positive team member
- Ability to teach in a flexible learning environment
- Passionate about teaching and ensuring belief in every student
- Ability to effectively integrate technology and an understanding of 21st Century Learning Skills
- Assessment literate
- An understanding of High School Redesign Principals, the Collaborative Response Model, and Differentiation would be considered an asset
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Effective classroom management
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth
