Reports To: Head of Technology

Start Date: July, 2025

Application Closing Date: June 12, 2025

Annual Salary: $50,000 - $60,000

St. George’s School is looking for a talented and driven individual to take on the role of Junior Full-Stack Developer & IT Support Specialist. This hybrid role is ideal for someone early in their tech career who enjoys both coding and helping people with technology. You will split your time between developing our internal web applications (using PHP/Symfony and React/TypeScript) and providing hands-on IT support to our staff and students. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a critical-thinker, and highly motivated. Able to work unsupervised, they will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be a team player.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain web applications and internal tools using our PHP/Symfony backend and React + TypeScript frontend stack.
  • Implement new features and UI improvements as directed by senior developers, and fix bugs in a timely manner.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA processes to ensure high-quality code.
  • Use Git version control (feature branching, pull requests) as part of our collaborative development workflow.
  • Ensures timely tracking and response to resolving end-user technical problems.
  • Provides support on computers, projectors, scanners, printers, wireless networks and solves hardware/software technical problems on Microsoft and Apple platforms.
  • Write concise and accurate technical documentation throughout the application development process.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while working within the constraints of delivery timelines.
  • Other development and support responsibilities as required.



Qualifications include:

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Recent graduates are welcome - if you have built projects or done tech support, let us know!)
  • Solid base understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
  • Proficient experience working with GIT, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Symfony, React, SQL.
  • Solid working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, and various software such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to understand the importance of deadlines and work without supervision.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to make proactive changes.
  • Key competencies and EQ in the following areas: self-awareness, self-management, empathy, social expertness, initiative, and accountability.
