Job Description

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nutritional care for students
  • Assist in Menu creation and development for students with special requirements
  • Ensure the management of physical and material resources in partnership with the production team to ensure allergen safety
  • Assume prevention and communication projects on food-related risks, in particular allergens and the balance of menus for children, students, parents, and staff
  • Ensure the qualitative and quantitative control of foodstuffs according to established specifications
  • Be the first point of contact for any question or investigation requested on the subject of nutrients, dietetics, allergens, etc.
  • Monitor nutritional status of students and follow-up as required
  • Conduct in-service education on nutrition topics to management team

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor of Science with focus in Food & Nutrition or equivalent
  • Must be licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians & Nutritionists (NSCDN)
  • Member of Dietitians of Canada
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook suite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
