Sr. Workday Benefits Lead to manage and execute Benefits and Pension Project activities

Our valued client is looking for a Workday Benefits Lead to manage and execute all Benefits and Pension project activities from current HCMS, Accero, to Workday HCM


An initial 6-month contract. Remote.


Tasks include:

  • Working with the Workday consultants, the Benefits Lead will ensure that all plans, payroll deductions, eligibility, vendor interfaces, etc. are delivered according to project schedule
  • Lead the configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday Benefits module features and enhancements.
  • Partner with HR and benefits teams to manage annual Events and day-to-day life event processes.
  • Ensure that employee on-boarding includes benefits enrollment elections and/or default coverage
  • Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and third-party benefits vendors (e.g., Canada Life, Sutton, Aon).
  • Manage eligibility rules, benefit plan setup, and related business processes in Workday.
  • Identify system defects or inefficiencies prior to go-live, and coordinate solutions with stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Conduct regression testing during Workday updates or when making configuration changes.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, system processes, and end-user support.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex benefit-related issues requiring technical analysis.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, HR users and IT to assess change impacts during the project
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Provide post-production support during the warranty period


Must have:

  • Reliability clearance with the Federal Government
  • 5+ years of experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • 5+ years of experience in Requirements Management
  • 3+ years of experience with benefits knowledge focused on Canadian benefits
  • 3+ years of experience with requirements-based testing
  • 3+ years of experience with the Workday HR Management System


Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • One or more of the following Workday Partner/Customer Certifications: Workday Benefits, Workday HCM Core, or Workday Payroll
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required Leadership skills
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements
  • Experience in design thinking, user centered design, human centered design
