Our valued client is looking for a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (10+ years) to configure and maintain database servers and processes in the public sector.

12 month contract, remote

Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain SQL-Server database servers and processes
• Monitor Client system's health and performance
• Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
• Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users).
• Develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication & create, manage constraints and indexes.
• Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures.
• Create detailed documentation including diagrams of database infrastructure.
• Learn relevant business processes and understand the data flow, criticality and dependencies.
• Effectively coordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal and external teams and clients) & set up and maintain database infrastructure for the company’s BI needs.
• Support SQL Server, DB2 & PostgreSQL.-Deliver knowledge transfer on core DBA operations and advanced topics, including High Availability (HA) to ensure continuous database access and Disaster Recovery (DR) to enable system restoration after major incidents, as well as patching, security, and troubleshooting
• Provide training through walkthroughs, live operational shadowing, and structured technical briefings
• Produce SOPs, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and recordings to enable independent DB environment support

Must Have Skills:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience developing and implementing databases within a Database Management System (DBMS) technology.
• 10 years experience in administrating databases within a DBMS technology.
• Reliability Status security clearance (active)
