Senior Solutions Architect with Broad Expertise in Applications, COTS, Infrastructure, and Hardware for an operational role

Our client has an immediate requirement for a Senior Solutions Architect with broad experience in COTS, Data, Infrastructure, and Hardware solutions for an operational role

6-month contract with possible extension

Calgary based - 3 days/week in the office

This position is focused on delivering architectural solutions aligned with enterprise standards and project-specific needs. The Solutions Architect will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and aligned with institutional goals.

The position is responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture principles. The role emphasizes short- to medium-term project delivery, consulting on solution design, and ensuring architectural compliance across initiatives.

Must Have:

- 8+ years as an IT Solution Architect

- Experience in 2 or more of the following: application development, infrastructure, middleware, data architecture, or operations

- Experience with RFP work, evaluating software products and services for project suitability

- Ability to work with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions

- Good understanding of a breadth of functional areas of IT and depth of knowledge in several areas

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience in higher education or public sector environments
• Familiarity with frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, PMBOK, or ISO standards
