Senior OpenShift Engineers / Architects to build, expand, and operationalize a Red Hat OpenShift environment for a professional services client

Our professional services client is seeking a Senior OpenShift Architect (10+ years) and a Senior OpenShift SRE Engineer (5+ years) to build, expand, and operationalize a Red Hat OpenShift environment.

Join a specialized platform engineering team tasked with stabilizing and evolving a production-grade Red Hat OpenShift environment supporting enterprise-scale application delivery. The client is building a dedicated OpenShift platform team responsible for ensuring stability, scalability, automation, and continuous improvement across enterprise Kubernetes environments.

The team is hiring for two key roles:

• Senior OpenShift Architect - responsible for platform strategy, governance, architecture, and roadmap ownership

• Senior OpenShift SRE Engineer - responsible for platform operations, reliability engineering, automation, and lifecycle management

Initial 1-year contract (Remote - AST timezone) with strong possibility of extension.

Senior OpenShift Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture design and roadmap development for OpenShift platform adoption
• Define platform governance, standards, and operational best practices
• Own architectural assessments, capacity planning, and performance optimization strategies
• Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex platform challenges
• Align OpenShift platform strategy with business and operational requirements
• Guide automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), GitOps, and CI/CD enablement initiatives
• Collaborate with internal DevOps, platform engineering, and application teams to support scalable enterprise application delivery

Must Haves

• 10+ years of infrastructure, cloud, or platform architecture experience with 4-6+ years focused on Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes environments
• Proven experience owning platform architecture, governance, and technology roadmaps for enterprise-scale environments
• Strong understanding of OpenShift platform design, scalability, resiliency, and operational best practices
• Experience providing technical leadership and architectural oversight for production-critical platforms
• Enterprise production operations background supporting large-scale infrastructure environments

Nice to Have

• Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• TOGAF or ITIL Foundations
• Bilingual English-French proficiency

Senior OpenShift SRE Engineer

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and optimize OpenShift clusters across enterprise environments
• Perform platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities
• Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to improve operational efficiency
• Support GitOps workflows and CI/CD platform integrations
• Monitor platform health, investigate incidents, and perform root cause analysis
• Troubleshoot cluster, node, networking, and application platform issues
• Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to improve platform reliability and scalability
• Contribute to operational governance, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Must Haves

• 5+ years of infrastructure, cloud, platform, or site reliability engineering experience
• 2-4+ years of hands-on Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes administration experience
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred)
• Experience supporting GitOps workflows and CI/CD environments
