Our post-secondary client is seeking a Senior Management Consultant to evaluate the effectiveness of a large-scale organizational transformation initiative, assess the maturity of the current operating model, and develop a roadmap for future-state organizational improvements (Hybrid, Edmonton AB).


Overview:

The successful candidate will conduct a comprehensive review of a previously implemented organizational transformation initiative, assessing what has been successfully adopted, identifying operational gaps and friction points, and recommending enhancements to improve organizational agility, service delivery, and alignment with strategic priorities. The consultant will engage senior leadership, facilitate stakeholder consultations, perform organizational assessments, and develop a transition strategy and future-state operating model roadmap.


Must-Haves:

  • 10+ years of Management Consulting, Business Transformation, Organizational Effectiveness, or Strategic Advisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience assessing, designing, or evolving Target Operating Models (TOM) and organizational operating models
  • Experience leading large-scale organizational transformation or shared services transformation initiatives
  • Experience conducting organizational assessments, operational reviews, maturity assessments, and gap analyses
  • Proven ability to develop strategic recommendations, future-state roadmaps, and transformation strategies
  • Strong business process analysis and operational improvement experience
  • Experience developing transition plans and change adoption strategies for enterprise-wide initiatives


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience within post-secondary education, public sector, government, or large complex organizations
  • Prosci, CCMP, or other Change Management certification
  • MBA, Master's Degree, or equivalent advanced education
  • Lean Six Sigma, Business Architecture, or Organizational Design experience
  • PMP or Program Management certification


Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness and maturity of a previously implemented organizational transformation initiative
  • Assess what elements of the operating model have been successfully implemented and identify areas requiring improvement
  • Conduct operational gap analyses to identify pain points between business units and service delivery groups
  • Lead stakeholder consultations and executive-level discussions to gather feedback and build alignment
  • Assess organizational processes, partnerships, capabilities, and service delivery effectiveness
  • Identify unmet business needs, capability gaps, and opportunities for operational improvement
  • Develop recommendations to evolve the current operating model into a more agile and future-ready structure
  • Create a future-state operating model roadmap aligned to organizational priorities and strategic objectives
  • Develop a phased transition strategy to support implementation of recommended changes
  • Facilitate workshops, presentations, and knowledge transfer sessions with leadership and stakeholders
  • Provide objective strategic advice and guidance throughout the engagement
