We are seeking a hands-on WBI to App Connect Enterprise (ACE) Migration Expert to support a large-scale integration modernization initiative with a government client

This role requires proven, end-to-end migration experience from IBM WebSphere Business Integration (WBI) to IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) in complex, enterprise environments.

Project Duration : 3 years

Duration: 6 months (with extension)

Work Mode: Remote (Canada-based) with occasional onsite if required. Preferrance will be given to candidates located in Edmonton

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end WBI ACE migration, including:
• Discovery and assessment of message flows, MQ objects, broker configurations, and dependencies
• Design target-state ACE architecture in clustered Windows environments
• Define and execute:
• Migration strategy
• Rollback strategy
• Parallel-run approach to minimize risk
• Guide environment setup across UAT / PROD / DR, including:
• Provisioning and clustering (HA/DR)
• System hardening and performance tuning
• Oversee security, certificates, and secure messaging configurations
• Migrate and remediate:
• WBI artifacts (message flows, integrations, services)
• MQ configurations and partner endpoints
• Lead SIT, UAT, and DR testing cycles, ensuring full coverage and stability
• Coordinate with vendors, infrastructure, and security teams
• Own cutover planning, go-live execution, and hypercare support
• Develop runbooks, support documentation, and operational procedures
• Manage risks related to:
• Firewalls and network constraints
• VPN/connectivity complexities
• Licensing and compliance requirements
• Ensure business continuity throughout the migration lifecycle

Must-Have Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience leading WBI ACE migrations (mandatory)
• Deep expertise with:
• IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)
• IBM WebSphere Business Integration (WBI)
• IBM MQ
• Strong experience designing and implementing HA/DR architectures
• Solid understanding of:
• Message flows and integration patterns
• Secure messaging, certificates, and encryption
• Experience working in large, complex enterprise or public sector environments
• Strong knowledge of Windows-based clustered deployments
• Ability to lead end-to-end delivery (design migration testing go-live)

Nice-to-Have

• Previous experience with Canadian public sector clients (provincial/federal)
• Familiarity with government security and compliance standards
