Senior Data Architect to assist with building Data Models and to align architecture with Data Collection and Management (Req 10071)

Our Oil and Gas client is seeking and Senior Data Architect to assist with building Data Models and to align architecture with Data Collection and Management

Candidates must be located in Calgary, and will be in-office 4-days/week (Will be 5 days/week in September)

Must haves:

• 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture with a focus on data modeling and database design principles, and Power BI
• Experience with the following: Python specifically (but any statistical programming language is a plus) Databricks. PI Data Historian, MS SQL and REST API programming
• Understanding of the upstream Oil & Gas industry, specifically Process Data, SCADA, Field Data Capture, heavy oil production processes, AB and SK air emissions regulations.

Nice to haves:

• Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in data warehousing, ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, and data modeling tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities:

• Gathering data from various sources, including databases, systems, and potentially external sources.
• Developing and maintaining data collection and storage systems.
• Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and quality.
• Applying statistical techniques and tools to analyze data.
• Identifying trends, patterns, correlations and inconsistencies within the data and associated systems
• Developing data models to support analysis and predictions.
• Contributing to standards for data quality, security, and compliance.
• Contributing to the overall data strategy and ensuring it aligns with business goals.
