Our client is looking for a Senior Data Architect (Azure, Snowflake) to design dimensional models, author documentation and shape data for goverance/consumption

Must Haves:

• 8+ years' experience in data architecture, data modeling, or analytics engineering, including ownership of enterprise-scale architecture and data models.
• Proven ability to operate across both architecture and modeling disciplines-you have designed architecture patterns AND built or reviewed dimensional models, not just one or the other.
• Expert-level knowledge of dimensional modeling (Kimball), including:
• Star/snowflake schema design, fact table patterns, conformed dimensions
• SCD Type 1/2 (and when to use each), role-playing dimensions, bridge tables
• Additive vs semi-additive measures, snapshots vs transaction facts, late-arriving dimensions
• Gold/curated layer design and structuring analytics-ready data products
• Experience with Azure data platforms: ADLS, Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric
• Strong SQL skills and analytical methods for data profiling, reconciliation, and validation
• Experience defining and documenting data architectures-you are comfortable authoring architecture diagrams, ADRs, data domain models, and standards documents that others can use and extend.

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in the energy industry, utilities, or other asset-intensive environments.

• Experience with Power BI semantic modeling (tabular concepts, metrics governance, deployment patterns).

• Familiarity with governance and security concepts (cataloging, lineage, RBAC/ABAC, auditing, data classification).

• Experience with architecture modeling and documentation tooling (e.g., Archi, LeanIX, Lucidchart, Miro, ERwin, SQLDBM, dbt docs).
