Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst (HCM) to support the Enterprise Commons Program, working within the Human Capital Management (HCM) stream, with a focus on Time & Attendance and HR-related systems (Hybrid, Edmonton AB).


Overview:

The Senior Business Analyst will support complex IT initiatives within the Enterprise Commons Program, specifically aligned to Human Capital Management solutions. This role will contribute to process documentation, solution design, testing, data validation, and stakeholder engagement across Workforce Software (WFS), Employee Central, or Sodales modules. Placement within a specific module will be determined based on interview outcome.


Must-Haves:

  • 7+ years of experience in Business Analysis and/or Business Systems Analysis
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud ERP implementations, preferably SAP Cloud
  • Strong experience supporting testing activities (SIT and UAT), including creation of test artifacts
  • Experience with data validation and cutover activities, including the ability to write SQL queries
  • Experience documenting and updating business processes within HR or enterprise systems
  • Ability to work onsite in Edmonton on a hybrid basis (minimum 2 days per week, aligned to team days)


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with Workforce Software (WFS), particularly Time & Attendance
  • Experience with HCM, payroll, or time and attendance systems and integrations (e.g., SAP, Workday, Dayforce, ADP)
  • Understanding of full-cycle payroll processing (time capture through pay and reporting)
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or equivalent payroll certification
  • CBAP designation


Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain current-state and future-state business process documentation for Human Resources and related HCM modules
  • Review and provide input into solution and design documentation
  • Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) artifacts including test scripts, test cases, test conditions, and expected results
  • Support the Module Lead by facilitating stakeholder and working sessions
  • Identify risks and provide mitigation recommendations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in data conversions, cutover activities, and perform data validation (including SQL-based validation)
  • Execute and support testing activities during System Integration Testing (SIT) and lead UAT sessions with business testers
  • Manage shifting priorities while delivering within defined scope, timeline, and budget constraints
  • Produce program-standard documentation and required project artifacts
  • Provide regular status updates and proactively surface risks and issues to the Module Lead
