Our utilities client is seeking a Privacy Advisor to define, design, and deliver Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) - 22112

Initially a 6 months contract. 37.5 hours/week. Hybrid in Downtown Vancouver.

Must Have:

• 3+ years working experience within IT Security, Law, Public Administration, Records and Information Management, or Information Science.
• Responsible for the review, control, and preparation of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
• Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of the British Columbia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA), its regulations, ministerial orders, and relevant guidance issued by the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.

Responsibilities:

• Balances strong client service and maintain compliance.
• Provides advice and guidance on privacy obligations-is able to handle diverse and complex queries.
• Responsible for the review, control, and handling of privacy incidents.
• Participates in internal review committees to ensure systems and initiatives meet privacy obligations.
• Participates in departmental meetings and supports with minor administrative tasks related to the role (e.g., scheduling meetings, tracking metrics, etc.)
