Description
Platform Automation Developer to design, develop, and implement production-ready enhancements and automation solutions using Python within a Ruby on Rails platform (3009)
6 month contract to start, 100% remote - preference given to Calgary candidates.
Must have:
- Strong hands-on experience with Python for automation and scripting
- Experience with Ruby on Rails (extending or integrating within an existing codebase)
- API integration and RESTful services development experience
- Git proficiency and clean commit practices in shared repositories
- Baseline understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
Nice to have:
- Experience transitioning automation from contractors to internal teams
- Familiarity with infrastructure or platform automation (network, monitoring, identity, CI/CD)
- Experience with task orchestration or job scheduling frameworks
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and secrets management in automation
- Experience writing runbooks or operational guides for non-developers
