Our client is seeking an Application Consultant - Technical Architect to lead Azure DevOps assessments, governance frameworks, and enterprise-wide DevOps alignment initiatives. (Hybrid, Calgary)

Overview:

This role acts as a strategic advisor and technical architect responsible for aligning Azure DevOps capabilities with business and technical goals. The consultant will lead assessments, define governance standards, and drive scalable, standardized DevOps practices across stakeholder teams.

Must-Haves:

• 7+ years of experience in Application Architecture, Cloud, and DevOps
• Expert-level proficiency with Azure DevOps, including platform assessment and configuration
• Proven experience establishing and implementing DevOps governance frameworks at scale
• Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
• Experience documenting repository strategies, extensions, and branching models
• Familiarity with compliance, platform hygiene, and retention policies within DevOps environments

Nice-to-Haves:

• Prior experience in organizational change management and training development
• Experience with large enterprise DevOps transformations
• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-400, AZ-305)
• Strong documentation and playbook development experience

Responsibilities:

• Lead stakeholder workshops to assess current Azure DevOps configurations and identify technical debt, governance gaps, and improvement areas
• Define and implement Azure DevOps governance frameworks, including policy documentation and project templates
• Guide teams on secure, standardized platform configurations, repository strategies, and branching standards
• Establish platform hygiene protocols including archival/retirement frameworks and retention/compliance practices
• Deliver tailored training workshops and change management materials to support adoption
• Produce deliverables including a Current-State Assessment, Governance Playbook, and Training Materials
