Our client is seeking a Moodle Developer to support, upgrade, and transition Moodle implementations - IT 2026-20

The core responsibility is maintaining, upgrading, and integrating Moodle for certification and training operations. The role involves hands-on work with Moodle v4.5.6, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and liaison with teams for transitioning online course administration. This position will guide crucial technical decisions on platform upgrades and online course migrations.

3 months contract. Remote within BC. 40 hours/week.

Must Haves

• Moodle site administration, course and exam creation, and plugin management
• PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript development for Moodle customizations and extensions
• MySQL development and database management for Moodle
• Computer Science degree

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker containers
• Experience with Azure
• Experience with usability
• Experience prototyping with stakeholders
• Experience with Agile development tools (Jira, Azure DevOps)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve Moodle platform issues with the Certification and Licencing Squad
• Assess and recommend on-premise Moodle upgrade versus migration to Moodle Cloud
• Execute the transition to the chosen Moodle platform option
• Work with the Client Development team to evaluate and implement Moodle for online course administration
• Implement the transition from Absorb to Moodle if applicable
• Participate in squad, requirements gathering, and departmental meetings
• Prototype, design, develop, and test solutions using an agile approach
• Collaborate with quality assurance and development operations on production releases
