Description
We are seeking an Intermediate Systems Administrator to support ongoing infrastructure, cloud, and integration projects. This role will play a key part in helping onboard newly acquired companies, modernizing infrastructure, and ensuring systems remain secure, stable, and scalable.
- Overtime: They are able to work OT, will clarify further with candidate upon offer.
- Training: Initial training period will be 60-90 days and conducted onsite in Woodstock.
- Travel Requirements: Travel may be required anywhere in Canada
- Location: Woodstock (off the 401)
What You’ll Do
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, minor Linux environments, and core network components.
- Create, manage, and migrate virtual machines for integration projects.
- Support and administer Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, and Group Policy.
- Manage Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and client application deployments.
- Maintain and update Parallels VDI environments, including app publishing.
- Implement and enforce security standards, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure infrastructure uptime.
- Assist with on-site integrations across Canada, including user/email migrations and PC/network equipment deployment.
- Manage backup systems and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
- Provide Tier-3 escalation support for complex issues.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Must-Haves
- 3-6+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise with Windows Server 2016-2022 and some minor Linux environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune administration.
- Solid understanding of security protocols, patching, and vulnerability management.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to travel periodically for integration and deployment work.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience storage systems, or advanced networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls).
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, VBS, or Batch.
- Experience in transportation/logistics, or prior involvement with M&A integrations.
- Exposure to Parallels VDI environments.
