Our valued public sector client is hiring an Intermediate Project Leader to oversee digital solution delivery and system modernization initiatives.


Background:


The organization is seeking a Project Leader to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of digital solution projects across multiple business lines. The successful candidate will collaborate with both business stakeholders and technical IM/IT teams to drive the delivery of system enhancements, ensure alignment with organizational objectives, and support continuous improvement through effective project governance and reporting. The role involves managing enterprise-level initiatives that integrate custom software and departmental systems, leveraging tools such as Microsoft Project, Power BI, and SharePoint Online (SPO) to enhance visibility, performance tracking, and decision-making.


Tasks:


  • Facilitate requirements definition: Collaborate with business owners and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather, assess, and document high-level system requirements, exploring solution alternatives and ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions: Analyze and compare technical options (e.g., make-or-buy), prepare recommendations with supporting rationale, and outline implementation considerations and dependencies.
  • Develop project documentation: Create and maintain detailed project plans, testing strategies, stakeholder engagement approaches, and change management documentation.
  • Support system development activities: Plan and coordinate solution design discussions, monitor project tasks, and ensure timely delivery of outcomes within budget and scope.
  • Oversee testing activities: Coordinate testing plans and execution to confirm system deliverables meet defined objectives and quality standards.
  • Monitor implementation progress: Track milestones, report on project status, and proactively identify and address risks or variances.
  • Facilitate communication: Engage regularly with project stakeholders and technical teams to ensure transparency, alignment, and issue resolution.
  • Leverage project management tools: Utilize Microsoft Project (Gantt charts), Power BI, and SharePoint Online (SPO) to manage, track, and report on project progress and performance.


Must Have:


  • Microsoft Planner to manage projects - 2+ years
