Our utilities client is seeking an Intermediate Indigenous Relations Specialist to engage with Fraser Canyon and Southern Interior First Nations and support consultation. 21922

1 year contract to start, work can be done remotely but visits to office quarterly may be required. Candidates must be local to BC. 7.5 hours per day.

Must Have Skills:

• A minimum two (2) years of directly related work experience with First Nations communities
• Previous experience designing, developing, and executing capacity building and engagement initiatives by maintaining open and regular communication, to promote First Nations’ access to internal and external programs and resources.
• Facilitate First Nations procurement and employment opportunities through project identification, definition, planning, and implementation for the success of negotiated agreements.
• Promote Indigenous Relations vision and values through the maintenance of meaningful relationships with stakeholders including employees, government agencies, and municipalities by providing relevant information on project progress and challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Studies, Communication, Business, Law, Public Administration or related discipline

Nice to Have:

• Experience of working with First Nations based in British Columbia
