Our valued client is looking for an Intermediate Business Systems Analyst to assess business needs and translate them into clear technical requirements for the mobile app development team.

An initial 1 year contract.

Location: Ottawa Hybrid (2 days a week), 7.5 hours days

Tasks include:

• Act as a Systems analyst for the mobile application development team, applying a strong grasp of mobile product development to be able to understand the nuances of different operating systems, device capabilities, etc.
• On an ongoing basis, perform Business Systems Analysis tasks such as:
• Requirements gathering
• Privacy and security considerations
• Process improvement and change management
• Issue management
• Training development and delivery
• Operational support planning
• Utilize familiarity with mobile application design and development principles for Android and iOS, including platform-specific constraints, UI conventions, performance tuning, and release workflows.
• Process & System Modeling: Proficient in developing artifacts such as Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), business workflows, and system/process flow diagrams to visually communicate technical and business processes.
• Data Analysis & SQL Proficiency: Capable of writing and executing SQL queries to extract and analyze data, support decision-making, and validate system functionality through data insights.

Must have:

• 5+ years of experience as a technical discipline, Business Systems Analyst or in a similar role, ideally within a product-centric or Agile software development environment
• Demonstrated understanding of software design, implementation, and deployment processes, for mobile products or mobile application projects
• Some SQL knowledge and understanding of how to query databases and manipulate data

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset)
