Description
Our client is seeking an Intermediate BI Analyst with a background in procurement or supply chain to work with large government data sets to build PowerBI, PowerView, and SQL Reporting and Analytical Services. (657)
This is an onsite role which requires onsite work from 8:15-4:30 in Edmonton
Must Haves:
- 4+ years as a BI Analyst with the following experience:
- Experience with articulating and translating technical language for non-technical customers both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with presenting data in queries, dashboards, and reports in a way that is easy to understand.
- Direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform regulated and complex datasets into actionable insights for policy, operations and executive reporting
- Experience planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from, creating representations of, and reporting on co-design workshops with service users.
- Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related field of study.
A combination of the following experience is also required:
- 2+ years of experience in public sector procurement processes
- 4+ years of experience with PowerBI, PowerView, Microsoft SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services.
- 2+ years of experience working with large government datasets.
- Relevant post-secondary education in areas of supply chain, procurement, business or a related field, Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates (minimum 2-year diploma).
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute as part of a team, responsible for delivering business intelligence
capabilities to support internal and external department stakeholders’ information
needs.
• Deliver work products based on various sets of data including (but not limited to)
education, post-secondary education, apprenticeship, finance and census data.
• Work with a selection of technology products (such as SAP, Power BI) that must address the ever-changing technology and increasing appetite for information from internal and external department stakeholders.
• Must be able to work effectively with a team made up of in-house staff and contract resources.
• Analyze data and prepare information results.
• Gather and document requirements.
• Design and construct information products.
• Capture business and technical metadata for information products.
• Gather requirements for control processes including schedule management, status reporting, issues, risk, and change management at the program level.
• Produce deliverables within specified quality standards and timeline.
• Define and performing quality assurance on business intelligence deliverables.
• Respond to ad-hoc information inquiries.
• Perform data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis and data mining.
• Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate.
• Work within a multi-vendor/staff environment.
