Our multinational client is looking for a HYBRID - Enterprise Architect to lead the creation of strategy, roadmaps, and technology standards to support current and future business capabilities across the company in Vancouver.

NOTE: This position is hybrid in Gastown, Vancouver. 2-3 days per week.

MUST HAVE:

• 5+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, analytics, or related fields
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering
• Experience in Agile/SAFe methodologies and SDLC
• Strong expertise in:
• SQL, data modeling/analytics
• API architecture & integration patterns (queues, busses, service-oriented design)
• Modern programming languages (eg. Python, JavaScript, TypeScript)
• Containerization
• Automation/orchestration
• Security practices and regulatory compliance
• UML or visual modeling tools

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with Azure or AWS
• Familiarity with Microsoft technology stack
• Knowledge of TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Background in healthcare, insurance, or financial services
• Exposure to AI / Generative AI
• Experience in data-driven process implementation

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Architecture Planning: Develop technology roadmaps and guardrails, and contribute to long-term IT vision.
• Agile Enablement: Participate in SAFe ceremonies, coach teams, and promote DevOps/CI-CD practices.
• Architecture Governance: Define non-functional requirements (e.g., security, reliability), guide solution design, and maintain architectural artifacts.
• Innovation & Emerging Tech: Evaluate new technologies through prototyping and proof of concepts.
• Business & Portfolio Alignment: Align tech strategy with business goals and participate in Lean Portfolio Management.
• System Architecture Collaboration: Partner with engineers to define subsystems and interfaces.
• Enterprise Process Optimization: Identify improvement opportunities and drive automation/digitization.
• Capability Mapping & Gap Analysis: Maintain enterprise capability map and address maturity gaps.
• Technology Strategy & Vendor Management: Guide platform/tool selection and manage tech lifecycle.
• Risk & Scenario Planning: Anticipate architectural risks and support continuity planning.
