Our crown corporation client is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to prepare internal and external financial reporting deliverables

Contract goes till March 31, 2026, with the possibility to extend the contract term by an additional period of 3 months. Work may be done remotely, hybrid (remote and Victoria office) or on-site at Victoria office. Expected working hours will be 7 hours a day from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, PDT, five (5) days per week.

Must have:

• A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA; CPA, CGA; CPA, CMA) OR 2+ years accounting experience with interest in pursuing a CPA accounting designation
• A basic knowledge of securities markets and investment accounting
• Advanced level Excel skills and current experience with an industry standard accounting platform

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a client-facing role
• Previous audit experience, in particular with IFRS
• Previous experience preparing audited financial statements

POSITION DESCRIPTION :

Reporting to Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, the primary responsibility of the Analyst is to play a key role in the financial reporting function by assisting with the timely, complete, and accurate preparation of internal and external financial reporting deliverables. The Analyst works collaboratively with team members to improve current processes and procedures and, using reporting tools, designs and implements changes to increase efficiencies. Analysts work closely with teams across the organization, including investment teams, Risk, Valuations, and Investment Accounting.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Assist with the timely, complete, and accurate preparation of financial statements as well as internally and externally reported financial information
• Assist with facilitating external auditor engagements; includes responding to auditor queries and providing applicable supporting audit evidence
• Prepare financial reporting analysis in accordance with IFRS to conclude on accounting issues for new investments and structures
• Research new accounting standards that impact financial instruments and make recommendations on accounting policy changes
• Communicate with asset classes, external auditors, and other departments to resolve issues
• Work under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, and senior team members to assist with various projects

• Assist with the assessment and documentation of procedures and processes to support effective internal controls over financial reporting
• Assist in maintaining financial reporting software, Workiva, and associated work papers, including updating table mappings and queries as needed to support accurate reporting
