DELIVERY PERSON



There is a position available for a Delivery Person at Facilities. All applications must be completed online via the website and will be accepted until noon, May 12, 2025.

Reporting to the Operation Manager, this position is responsible for the delivery of mail, equipment and supplies to School District facilities and other locations as required or scheduled.



Hours of Work: (8) hours per day

Duties to Commence: May 20, 2025

Work Year Base: Twelve (12) months per year

Commencing Salary:
$28.63/hr.



Duties to be assigned include:

  • Picks up, sorts and delivers mail, and small equipment to and from School District and related locations. Reports any damage to the appropriate supplier and receiver.
  • Organizes delivery route under the direction of the Operations Manager, by location, and priority.
  • Ensures equipment and assigned vehicles are in good working order (for example, pre-trip vehicle inspections).
  • For the facilities department, duties will include refuse collection and general labourer duties.
  • Follows proper safety rules and standards by ensuring the worksite is safe and secure, that equipment and vehicles are operated according to set standards.
  • Ensures the safe handling of hazardous materials (WHMIS) and the safe use and operation of equipment and hand tools.
  • Informs the Operations Manager of vandalized equipment or property.
  • Performs other job-related duties as directed by the Operations Manager.


  • Qualifications and Attributes:

    • Grade 10 or equivalency
    • 3-6 months delivery experience is preferred
    • Class 5 driver's licence
    • Acceptable driver's abstract
    • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate or willingness to complete within the probationary period
    • Able to lift up to 50lbs
    • Ability to work independently and set priorities
    • W.H.M.I.S. Certificate and other online safety training provided by the District to be completed within the probationary period
    • Other applicable safety training and/or certifications as provided by the District to be completed as needed
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to be an integral part of a team
    • Must be well organized
    • Must be able to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Search conducted by the District prior to starting employment
