Rocky Mountain School District is searching for a continuing, full-time (1.0 FTE) Vice Principal at Selkirk Secondary School. This educational leadership role is effective August 1, 2026.

Selkirk Secondary School is located on the unceded and shared traditional territories of the Secwépemc and Ktunaxa Peoples in Kimberley, British Columbia. Our school community includes nearly 60 dedicated staff members who support approximately 580 students in Grades 8-12, including about 30 international students each year from a variety of countries.

The school is proud to offer a broad range of academic, athletic, artistic, and extracurricular opportunities. The school's goal is to foster an empowered, growth-minded learning community grounded in the core values of Belonging, Mastery, Independence, and Generosity, as represented in the Circle of Courage.

Rocky Mountain School District's four strategic priorities: Equity, Delivery and Inclusion; Success for Each Learner, Growing the Capacity of Self and Others; and Stewardship for the Future guide leadership at all levels of the organization. Integrating First Peoples' Principles of Learning and a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation are important parts of the leadership commitment. Staff have engaged in a range of professional learning experiences aimed at making learning more authentic, culturally responsive, and relevant for students, while deepening a collective commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

The district welcomes applications from candidates with strong teaching and leadership experience, as well as familiarity with First Peoples' Principles of Learning, the BC Curriculum, and Learning Pathways. The district seeks an assessment literate, service-oriented leader who embraces student-centered leadership. A master's degree in administration, leadership, curriculum, or a related field should be completed or currently underway. The successful applicant must hold, or be eligible to hold, a BC Teaching Certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch.
