School District No. 52 (Prince Rupert) is looking for casual employees for the Casual On-Call List for our School Meals program.

Job Duties
  • Prepares meals for students.
  • Assists in setting up a food service area for receiving lunches and food supplies.
  • Assists in serving school meals and/or supervises the service of school meals by student volunteers.
  • Shops for groceries, if required.
  • Assists in keeping accurate records of meals requested and served each day.
  • Contacts and responds to parents regarding School Meals Program concerns, if required.
  • Cares for leftover food and hygienically maintains equipment and premises.
  • Assists in planning, preparing and circulating a monthly newsletter.
  • Assists in organizing motivational activities for students, promoting proper nutrition.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

    • Job Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Exercises discretion and confidentiality in dealing with all matters pertaining to students and staff.
  • Good organizational and inter-personal skills.
  • Computer literacy and basic computer skills (30 wpm) required. Must have taken an approved food handler's course.
  • Must have knowledge of Canada's Food Guide and nutritional requirements.
  • Must have good command of the English language and be able to communicate clearly, to understand and follow directions and to prioritize tasks.
  • Must be physically able to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle required.
