Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Principal, and/or designate, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing various general and confidential secretarial and administrative services for the Principal, and the school, using both computerized and manual systems.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Graduation
  • Secretarial training at post-secondary level (including courses in accounting and computer software)
  • Good command of written/spoken English (grammar, spelling, punctuation)
  • Language programs require fluency in both the French and English languages (both written and spoken)
  • Ability to use judgment and tact in providing information.
  • Working knowledge of office procedures and standard office equipment including personal computers and office software
  • Minimum keyboarding speed of 50 wpm
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and deal effectively with constant interruptions.
  • Level 1 Occupational First Aid
OR an equivalent combination of training and experience

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge of School District administrative software
  • Knowledge of School District operations
