MUSIC TEACHER
Part-time (.77 FTE) position
Ridgeview Elementary School
Effective September 2, 2025 until June 30, 2026
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate for this position must be able to demonstrate evidence of the following:
- Training and experience delivering a comprehensive developmental music program for elementary aged children;
- Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate
- Training and recent elementary experience in choral and instrumental music;
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work co-operatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting;
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents;
- Knowledge and experience in the area of technology and the ability to integrate technology into the music program;
- Proven effective classroom management;
- Proven ability to support the social-emotional development of all students;
- Knowledge of methods for evaluating and selecting instructional materials suitable for students with a variety of needs;
- Ability to carry out a variety of assessments, including classroom observation, curriculum-based assessment and diagnostic teaching methods;
