TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION TEACHER
Full-time (1.0 FTE) Term position
Sentinel Secondary School
Effective September 2, 2025 until June 30, 2026
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
A full-time Technology Education (1.0 FTE) position consisting of Woodwork/Carpentry 8 - 12 and Drafting 11/12 is available at Sentinel Secondary School. The successful teacher will demonstrate the following:
- Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in Technology Education (eg BCIT TTED program)
- Evidence of experience teaching Woodwork, Carpentry, Furniture and Cabinetry, and Drafting
- Post-secondary coursework and/or ELL instructional certification considered an asset.
- Hold a valid BC Professional Teaching Certificate
- Commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology with the curriculum
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education Core Competencies, Big Ideas and Learning Standards for the appropriate curricular area
- An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.
