POSTING DETAILS

  • Position - Family Support Worker
  • Start Date - As soon as possible
  • Schedule - Continuing / Permanent (see below)
  • Location(s) - Langley Education Centre



SUMMARY: Reporting to the Principal, the Family Support Worker provides guidance and support for at-risk youth and their families.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. - Social Work, Psychology, Family Studies including training in mediation and /or conflict resolution.
  • Training in mediation and/or conflict resolution.
  • One to two year's related experience.
  • Valid BC Drivers Licence.
  • Ability to use tact, discretion and persuasion in contacts with students, staff, parents and the public.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and use judgement in the provision of services and in deciding on a course of action.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to work with students.

  • Proof of high school graduation (or completion of other post-secondary education)

Schedule: Monday's and Wednesday's 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Tuesday's and Thursday's 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Friday's 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. (35 hours/week)
