Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement)
Effective Date: September 1, 2025

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
- knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
- knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
- successful experience teaching K to 5
- Coursework or degree in Human Kinetics, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a related field would be as asset
- strong commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrated successful experience in teaching all components of a well-rounded, balanced and effective Physical Education program at the elementary level including Dance, Gymnastics, and Outdoor Pursuits
- ability to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessment practices in Physical Education to measure and monitor student progress effectively
- demonstrated ability and proven experience of excellent classroom management, including creating an optimal learning environment where all students feel connected and that they belong
- evidence of developing equitable learning opportunities to meet the diverse academic, cultural, developmental, socio-emotional and behavioral needs of students
- proven experience in integrating the First People Principles of Learning into instructional approach and relationship building
- demonstrated ability to co-ordinate and manage a preparation time schedule that requires excellent organizational and communication skills
- willingness to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a grade group team, as well as be a positive contributor to the school team
- evidence of promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity within the entire school community
- ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and build connection with students, staff and parents
- a current First-Aid and CPR certificate
