The Opportunity

RVS invites applications for a full-time (35 hrs/wk) Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) Team Lead position starting immediately.

This position is located at the Education Centre in Airdrie, Alberta.

This position will report to the Director of Learning Supports. Under the direction of the Learning Supports leadership team and in collaboration Recovery Alberta will provide leadership, coordination and implementation of identified mental health capacity building programming currently operating in Rocky View Schools (RVS).

The Team Lead is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating services to meet mental health program goals, delivery of programming, facilitation of Recovery Alberta approved Professional Learning for RVS staff and Community members including supervision of staff to carry out the programs.

The Team Lead collaborates with other professionals within the Learning Department to ensure continuity of services and consistent approaches to the provision of student and staff supports.

The successful candidate will have access to reliable transportation as travel is required. Mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with established RVS procedures.

Responsibilities Include

  • In conjunction with Director of Learning Supports, developing and implementing a service plan that aligns with Recovery Alberta MHCB and Rocky View Schools service delivery and objectives
  • Organizes and facilitates the delivery of mental health promotion and prevention programs ensuring programming adheres to best practice and current research

  • Coordinates the day-to-day activities including leading, scheduling, supervision, professional development and evaluation of 12-month Success Coaches
  • Explore, develop and support partnerships with community groups and services to extend current programs and service
  • In collaboration with Director of Learning Supports, has a high level of fiscal accountability for budgeting, submission of statistical and narrative reports to Recovery Alberta
  • Works within RVS’ framework of including to ensure the meeting student needs
  • Reviews and adjusts program offerings to ensure accessibility across the district
  • Compiles and analyses data, and reports results of identified measures and goals to stakeholders
  • Liaises and communicates regularly with various stakeholders including contracted services, students and their families, health agencies, and other community partners
  • Collaborate with other divisional staff in creating accessible, engaging and authentic learning opportunities for students

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field

  • 1-3 years’ Supervisory/Lead experience in similar field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in child and youth mental health with promotion and prevention work
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing universal community-based programming

  • Previous experience within a school division would be considered an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
