As a rapidly growing school division in Alberta, Rocky View Schools (RVS) supports the educational needs of more than 28,600 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in 53 schools to ensure they learn, belong and succeed.
RVS is situated on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta including the Siksikaitsitapi (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Amskapi Pikuni), the Tsuutina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Bearspaw, Chiniki, Goodstoney), and the Rocky View Métis District.

This is an expression of interest to become pre-qualified for future Learning Support Teacher positions, not an application for a current vacancy. Selected applicants will be interviewed, and only those who are successful will be considered pre-qualified. Pre-qualified candidates must still apply to future Learning Support Teacher postings.
Applicants who completed this pre-qualification interview process previously and have been accepted do not need to reapply.This posting is only for individuals who have not been accepted previously and/or new individuals who have not yet gone through the process.
The following qualifications are preferred for the Learning Support Teacher:
Minimum 5 years classroom teacher experience
1-year additional post secondary education in one of the following programs:
- Learning Supports
- Inclusive Education
- Special Education
- Disability Studies
A combination of education and experience could be considered.
The successful candidate must possess, or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certification with Alberta Education at www.alberta.ca/teacher-certification.
Pre-employment Requirements
- The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment
