The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board is now accepting applications for Casual Classroom Supervisors.

The Board has Casual Classroom Supervisor needs for the following locations:



Geographical Area #1: Arnprior Family

  • John XXIII, Arnprior (JK-Grade 6)
  • St. Joseph’s, Arnprior (JK-Grade 8)
  • St. Joseph’s, Calabogie (JK-Grade 8)



Geographical Area #2: Madawaska Family

  • St. John Bosco, Barry’s Bay (JK-Grade 8)
  • George Vanier, Combermere (JK-Grade 8)
  • St. Andrew’s, Killaloe (JK-Grade 8)



Geographical Area #3: Renfrew

  • Our Lady of Fatima, Renfrew (JK-Grade 7)
  • St. Thomas the Apostle, Renfrew (JK-Grade 7)



Geographical Area #4: Pembroke Family

  • Cathedral, Pembroke (JK-Grade 6)
  • Holy Name, Pembroke (JK-Grade 6)
  • Our Lady of Lourdes, Pembroke (JK-Grade 6)
  • Our Lady of Grace, Westmeath (JK-Grade 7)
  • Valleycrest (Section 23), Pembroke



Geographical Area #5: Deep River/Chalk River/Petawawa Family

Geographical Area #6: Eganville/Douglas family

Geographical Area #7: High School - Pembroke

  • Bishop Smith Catholic High (Grade 7 -12)



Geographical Area #8: High School - Renfrew

  • St. Joseph’s High (Grade 8-12)



Casual Classroom Supervisors will have the autonomy to select which family of schools they wish to work in.



Job Summary :

Under the direction of the school Principal and/or Vice-Principal, the Casual Classroom Supervisor may be called in as needed to support schools by supervising a classroom or group of students and should be prepared to follow out instructions provided by the teacher or school administrator.



Individuals will be called in on an emergency basis through an automated system with little advance notice.



Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of grade 12 education or equivalent is required;

  • Post-secondary education relating to children and youth is preferred;

  • Prior experience (paid or volunteer) working with children is a strong asset;

  • Strong communication, judgement and decision making skills when interacting with students;

  • Ability to understand student safety risks and alert Principal when necessary;

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information;

  • Possess an understanding of and a willingness to support the mission of a Catholic School system; and

  • Individuals from a Faculty of Education Program are accepted.

  • Three professional references, including one from a current or recent supervisor.

  • As a condition of employment, all successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) in accordance with the Education Act. This document will only be considered valid for six (6) months after the date of issue;
